I am a year 10 student and keen on becoming an airline pilot. I will be doing 2 unit maths next year and obviously physics. Math isn’t a big strong point but I can manage unit 2 maths. What score would I need in the hsc to get into flight cources etc. Would you recomend aviation at uni or flight school? Is there anything I can do from now to prepeare myself?

I am asking this question from a standpoint of great interest as I will be applying to a major airline in a few years. Aside from the qualifications such as Commercial Pilots License and Airline Transport Pilots License and obviously experience, are certificates such as First Aid etc highly sought after in a pilot as this shows the pilot isn’t ‘narrow minded’? I know that the plane will crash if no one else is around to drive it. But if he does falls asleep will there be anyone there to take over, like an assistant or something. I was wondering because I recently read an article about a man falling asleep while driving an airplane and then crashing. And I’m scared because I’m going on an airplane soon and my flight leaves very early in the morning and I’m worried that the pilot might be tired.
